Twitter Line user's guide

Requirements

Twitter Line supports Firefox 3. (Firefox 3.0.x) and it does not run on Firefox 2.x nor any other kind of browsers.

Install

You can install Twitter Line by the following steps.

  1. Click [Install Twitter Line] on the web site

  2. If you see a security notification on the top of browser, please click the [Allow] button to allow to install from this web site (www.greenspace.info).

  3. Click [install now] button on software installation dialog.

  4. The dialog let you to restart Firefox when download and install finish. after restart, Twitter Line is available on your toolbar.

Uninstall (remove)

You can remove the Twitter Line by the following steps.

  1. Select [tools]-[Add-ons] menu, and open add-on dialog.
  2. Select [Twitter Line] in the list on the [extentions] and click the [uninstall] button.
  3. Restart Firefox after removing process has been done to complete uninstall.

Getting start

First, [Start Twitter Line] button shows on the toolbar. Please click this button to start the Twitter Line.

If you could not find Twitter Line toolbar, please make sure [Twitter Line] is chekced on the [view]-[Toolbars] menu.

Enter your Twitter's accunt and password on the fields click sign in button. (If you would like to keep this account for the next time, check the [save account].)

If signing in succeeds, Twitter Line changes to main view and begins to stream your Twitter time line.

main view

Twitter Line shows your timeline on the main view. Each update switches per 5 seconds. And Twitter Line ask Twitter to get new arrival updates every 90 seconds. (You can change the timing for switcing updates and asking to server on the settings dialog.)

  1. User icon
  2. This user's status
  3. What application this user uses.
  4. Update time
  5. Current index / total number of downloaded statuses
  6. Toggle favorite
  7. Open update form
  8. Open update form to reply to this user
  9. Move to previous / next status. (Click with shift key then move per 5 updates and click with alt(option) key then move to first or last updates.)
  10. Open popup menu
  11. Collapse Twitter Line

Update

You can also update (post) your status from Twitter Line. Please click the update button to open the 'update form'.

update form

  1. Add @reply user name that shows on main view.
  2. Add URL that is in current browser tab.
  3. Number of text length that you can input.
  4. Update text. (Note that the text is posted when you press the enter key. If you would like to input just a line break, please press the enter key with the shift or ctrl key.)
  5. Cancel update and close update panel.
  6. Update your status.

Settings dialog

To open the 'Settings dialog' for customize Twitter Line, select [Settings...] menu on popup menu, or open [Add-ons] dialog ([Tools]-[Add-ons] menu) and click [option] button in Twitter Line item in the Extentions list.

Twitter Line Settings
  1. User account list.
  2. Add new user.
  3. Delete user that shows on the user account list(#1).
  4. Check it if you would like to sign in when click the 'Start Twitter Line' button.
  5. Set the interval to check new updates on the Twitter server.
  6. Display interval for switching updates on main view.
  7. Check if you would not like to switch to latest update when new arrival updates is coming.
  8. If you check this, Twitter Line shows notification when new arrival update is coming.
  9. If you check this, A suffix(_TL_) is added on your status when you update from Twitter Line.

Other specs

  • The number to query new updates to Twitter srever is limited and Twitter Line could not get new updates if your account expired this limitation.
