その対応に意味はあるのか
Yahoo!のニュース記事を見てどうしても気になった内容。

万引き行為自体や、それに対するディズニーランド側の対応など、争点になるところもいくつかあるだろうけど、それよりも気になったのは学校側の対応だったりする。
上記記事で、学校側の発言にこうある。
この中学は「小遣いを持っていたはずなのに非常に残念。毎年、ディズニーランドが修学旅行の日程に入っているが、来年は中止を含め検討したい」としている。(「大阪の中学生１５人、修学旅行のＴＤＬで集団万引」- Yahoo!ニュースより引用)
この、「来年中止」という対応に意味はあるのだろうか。
来年ということは、もちろん中止の影響を受けるのは、引きを行った生徒たちの一個下の学年。当然、彼らに万引き行為など関係ない。まさにとばっちりもいいところだ。
同様のケースは部活の大会などでも見られたりするが、本当にそれに意味があることなのか。
当事者に事の重大さを知らしめて反省を促す、または下の学年の生徒たちに、万引き行為という犯罪の重大性を説く、という意味は考えられるが、それなら他にも方法はあるはず。わざわざ直接万引き行為に関係のない生徒たちを巻き込んでまで、中止するほどの価値がそこにあるのか。
個人的には、理解することができなかった。
# または単なる学校側のアピール...と考えるのは邪推だろうか。
本当に生徒のためになる選択を。
ぜひとも、よく検討していただきたい。
